President Kikwete chairs The High Level Panel on The Global Response to Health Crisis


The UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon welcomes President Dr.Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete to his New York Office where the President chaired The High Level Panel on Global Response to Health Crisis.
President Dr.Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete meets former USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah in New York shorlty before the commencement of the first meeting of the High Level Panel on The Global Response to Health Crisis.The panel chaired by President Kikwete was appointed by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon on April this year to make recommendations to strengthen national and international systems to prevent and manage future health crises taking into account lessons learnt from the response to the outbreak of Ebola.The panel is expected to submit its report to the Secretary General at the end of December this year.

On April this year the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon appointed a six member High Level panel to make recommendations to strengthen national and international systems to prevent and manage future Health Crises taking into account lessons learnt from the response to the outbreak of Ebola Virus disease.(photo by Freddy Maro)
